How to Post a Tech Article in the Tech Article Section

1. Select a good topic to write about. Installations, How-to's, product reviews, and any other useful technical information that EVO performance enthusiasts would consider useful are preferred. Be sure to include the reasons and benefits for embarking on the project in the first place - i.e. why should others do the modification? does it fix a problem, or make your car faster?

2. Document the subject well and take photos. If you're writing about how to install something, make sure you have all the photos to show what you're talking about. Text by itself is not always very useful. Be very descriptive and detailed. We'll likely remove articles that are very short, or those which don't meet our standards.

3. When writing the article, use "step-by-step" instructions (like we've done here) to make it easy to follow along. You can attach photos at the end of your article - be sure to reference those photos in the text somewhere. It is also useful to place text in the photos you submit to help explain what the photo is about, however, we understand that not everyone has Photoshop or Corel Draw. Just do your best to tie the text and photos together. If you have multiple photos for a step-by-step install you want to post, you'll need to do it one of two ways. Either upload your photos to your own webpage (like your own webpage) and link to them all in one post. Or Attach each image to a post separately - meaning, post one image in your first post and submit the article. Then click the "Add to Article" link to add the photo and text for step Two, and do the same again to attach a photo and text for step Three, etc. Use multiple posts to get all your photos uploaded in your article (almost like replying to your own thread for each step). An example of what I'm talking about can be found here.

Guidelines

Written articles only - NO LINKING TO ARTICLES ON OTHER SITES! This section is meant to be an archive of written articles - not links. We don't want links posted because the site you link to could eventually become nonexistent and we will then have a broken link.

All registered members can post a tech article. However, if your article is not well-written, very descriptive and detailed, we may choose to move it to another forum. All questions will be deleted. All links off to other sites will be deleted. Remember, the Tech Article forums are not for public discussions. No replies are allowed - except if you are the original author of the article. We may decide to move threads over from other forums into the archive, but will close them to prevent discussions from taking place.

Thanks everyone. Start writing and help us grow this valuable resource!
