would it be wise to add an afc and a mbc without full exhaust from the start. would it be possible to push 17-19 psi on the stock exhaust with these components and how to i get rid of the stock bcs. i heard a rumor that there are little restrictor beads in the vacuum hoses from the turbo to the intake tube(or something like that) to cut down on boost. is this true. any help would be great

You can add an AFC when ever you want. Even a stock Evo will benefit from at least some high end tuning.
Adding a MBC and setting it to stock boost levels (17-19psi) is fine too, even with stock exhaust. You'll get quicker response and no boost taper.
When installing a MBC you don't completely remove the stock solinoid. You leave it connected electrically, so the ECU thinks it still controlling boost, but you remove all its vaccum lines and cap its nipples.
There are "pills" in the BCS lines, but I ditched them early and did not figure out what exactly they do.
mbc install

are we installing boost controllers on the evo the same way we did on the dsms ie: removing all lines from wastegate and compressor outlet. capping the compressor outlet. capping the boost solenoid and using intake vacuum tee'd from the blow off valve for the in on the mbc and the out directly to the wastegate
I gained 37 HP from SAFC MBC, and a cone filter. Stock exhaust.

It was a custom tune on a dynapack AWD dyno, and I no longer have the SAFC so I can't give you the settings.

Sorry,

Yup. Exactly the same.
