I have a 2003 Evo, It has a Burshar BR 580 turbo, Ecuplus, K&N typhoon Intake, Tial blowoff valve, Fuel Pressure regulator, Walboro 255 high pressure fuel pump, Thermal research and development catback exaust with a blitz downpipe. I am now looking for a high performance tranny, clutch and flywheel. I dont have tons of money to spend but I want good quality. Does anyone know of good setup to use? I would like to find the whole setup done already. Is there a company that sell the performance tranny clutch and flywheel as a package deal?

:eek:
A performance tranny is going to cost you. A complete package is going to cost even more.
Is the car going for 1320's or fast laps?
I don't know of any compete packages, but you could start here and you will need to give them the spec's you need;

Thanks for your help, I checked out teamrip already though, I was hoping for another company, and yes I kno its going to cost alot of $ however Im looking to get the tranny flywheel and clutch for around $3000. If there are any more suggestions please advise.
i know of a bunch of evos running lots of power on the stock tranny and driveline. clutch and flywheel definatley need to be replaced. from my research, the cusco or exedy (both the same) hyper twin disc clutch is the primo clutch. it comes with a lighter flywheel and utilizes your stock throwout bearing. Also, to improve your driveline, a quaif limeted slip for the front. i know www.roadraceengineering.com sells the diffs. That diff will save your transfer case and you alot of money in the long run. Also, i believe the driveshaft shop has been workingon front and rear shafts for evos, you might want to check them out, or some other place to get high power driveshafts. but the tranny and diffs should hold up some pretty good power if your not breaking the hell out of them... the dynoflash.com evo (big AL!!!) was running 600+ hp at the wheels on stock tranny and diffs....something to think about. :thumb:

the exedy clutch (or cucsco) is about $1600 and like i said, it comes with a lighter steel flywheel and retains pretty much stock driveability. Also, is good for feathering out of the whole for high rpm launches.

I had A cusco 6 puck clutch and I found that to be to aggressive of a clutch for everyday usage. I have to put a new clutch in the car though. I also have to rebuild the tranny because the casing is cracked it also needs new syncros and a few other things. I am thinking about using the flywheel that I have which is a fidbenza 10lb aluminum flywheel. Is it worth it to rebuild the old tranny for around 2700 or should I go with a new performance tranny?
Use the Fidanza flywheel. Worst comes to worse just bolt on new friction material.
What do you use the car for? What kind of abuse is the tranny going to go through?
Duh... I almost forgot :eek: ;

I'm planning on going with the rre no-name clutch when the time comes, but my stock clutch has held up for 35K so far. Don't fix it if it isn't broken.
Thanks for all the advice I decided to rebuild the stock tranny and I went with a clutch masters stage 4 clutch and flywheel.
yes, "dont fix it till its broke" it'll save you a bunch of money for the time being. I installed a EXEDY four-puck sprung hub clutch with CCI 10LB chromoly flywheel(at 30k miles). grabs awesome, sounds like hell though when you would want to"slip" it when starting off slow, i just dont do it thats all. Im kinda waiting for the trans to take a dump, the clutch is definatly not the weak point now.
Thanks for the advice but the tranny was no good because the previous clutch was installed wrong and the tranny housing was cracked which led to all the syncros going bad and a few other things and the clutch was shot due to the tranny. so like I said I replaced it with a stage 4 clutch and lightweight flywheel from clutch masters. Yet I know exactly what your saying there is no coming off the clutch easy. Its a race clutch its meant to be bangin gears all day. You kind of have to launch the car at like 2grand everytime and just keep on the gas. Thanks for the imput though.
Sorry, nevermind. Just realized how old this post was. . .
