Well I do not own a Evo as of yet but soon to be a proud Evo owner. I still have my 1998 Formula, selling it soon because Chicago winters suck.
Lil history about myself if anyone is still reading this...
I've owned 6 cars since I was 16 (22 years old now), skipping the boring cars, I have had a clean 1999 Civic Si, 2002 WRX, the Formula and soon Evo.
WRX had TBE, [email protected] 17#'S, intake, and a few gauges. I sold that one due to personal reasons.

I am looking to buy an 03-04 Evo for about 23k. Looks like the price range I am in should not be a problem. Any suggestions in buying one of these used or what I should expect price wise in say 4 months?

Thanks guys!

Expect that price range and make sure it was never modded. After purchase of a used one, you will probably be replacing tires, clutch, and brakes very soon thereafter for about $2500, so keep that in mind...see if those parts have already been replaced and if it was from abuse or normal wear.

I can't stress this enough! It's out there. The one that dude bought, but realized he knows nothing about turbo cars and can't afford the maintanence and payment.
Hold out for the one.

Easier said than done! I looked at an 03 with 23k on it and was in stock form. When I left, I found out the owner of the car had full exhaust, MBC at 21 psi and beat the piss outta it. If I never found out who drove it before... I would be buying a POS

You'd have better luck finding a clean non std ridden prostitute for free than finding an evo that hasn't been modded or beaten

I agree. If you find that virgin hooker jump on her! Otherwise find one that makes regulare use of rubbers and goes to the clinic on a regular basis...... In other words, a responsible owner with a modded car tuned by a reputable shop.

I am so tempted to buy an MR and transfer all my performance parts over to it and the MR parts onto my 03 that I can taste it! An my car is well maintained and in great condition.

WHat are the chances of finding a 03-04 Evo say in about 4 months for around 21-23k with low to decent miles?

I find a few for that price but not very often. As of now, they are going for 23-25k but I am thinking in the time perios I speak of, it should not be a problem. Maybe Mitsu will have 0% financing on Evo's one day...NOT

They never offered 0% on used cars anyway, just new ones.... and 0% financing with no money down and no payments for a year are why they are is such bad financial trouble right now so I doubt they will ever do something that dumb again.

Now, if they jump on the employee discount for everyone band wagon I will jump on an MR so fast it would make your head spin and carry out my idea from earlier in this thread.

0%, I was refering to new ones, sorry.

Mmmm 50/50?
I almost bought a sweet 03 GSR, 9K miles, for $23K, but I held out for the RS, which I really wanted. It's out there, you just have to put in the work. After your done though, you'll be glad you did. :thumb:
Go to you bank, or credit union, first and secure financing through them first. As soon as you find your car, bam, it's yours.
