okay i like many have chose the dsmtuners.com to the evotuners.net craze and after my 2g got stolen i have been on the hunt for a newer car. i recently went to the dealer and found an evo which was for sale one of two on the lot. now the guy said he can have an evo shipped here with in 24hours of my purchace of the car. so the question is do i pay $33k for a straight off the lot evo or purchace a $20k-$25k evo off the streets. i have the money for both no matter what its just i would rather have more pocket money to work on the car. if you could lead me in some direction on which would be a more valuble purchace please i'm all ears. thanks.

You know what, I don't even own a Evo yet but I have 2 dsms both pretty quick (low11's) and I would guess like myself if you buy an evo you plan on having it forever practically. So does the mileage matter, I want some spare change to throw at it to satisfy my crave for speed so I will be going with a used one prob in the 20K range, just have to find one that really interests me. Plus I think with the redesign on the 06 model, it will prob cause the price of 03's to get under 20K easy, I hoping in the 17 to 19 w about 20 to 30K miles. Just my opinion, weird thing is though how many people you see trading in there 03 for an 05. I have one prob with what I want. I want the leather recaro seats and they didn't offer those until 05 :pity:

When it was time for me to get rid of the 2g and get an Evo, I only really considered used. Hold out for the one that's stock, great condition, and the milage you want. Coming from a 2g you pretty much already know how to work on it they are so similar.
$33K vs. $25K...
I'd take the used one and $5K in mods. :)

I don't think you will be seeing any 03's that cheap. I just sold mine (03 with sunroof, guage package, and low wing) to the good dealership in my area with 34,000 miles on it, $2,600 worth of rear end body damage, and a set of totally trashed wheels with bald @ssed tires on them for $18,000. I bought those wheels and tires from Dave Buschur for $100 total (not $100 each, $100 total for the set of four) That should tell you how F'ed up the wheels were :)
