This is my first post on here guys so be gentle. :)

Current have an 03 VIII with AEM Cam Gears, 3" Turbo Back with No Cat. HKS RS Intake MBC at 20 PSI and a Flashed ECU.

My pending mods ( at the house going in this week I hope )

GSC 272/264 Cams
APR Head Studs
10.5cm Hotside
Tubular Exhaust Mani
Tubular O2
Alky Injection ( may bump up boost to 23 lbs )
S-AFC-II

and of course I have to get the ECU reflashed again for these mods. My question is basiclly do you guys see anything completely out of whack with the set up?

Opinions please.

I think that's an AWESOME set of mods that will glean very nice hp on a DAILY basis at all times in any weather conditions on pump gas. Your only flaw is the reflash. Why would you need to reflash if you have an S-AFC? That's the point of having the S-AFC on top of a base flash...so that you can fine-tune everything on your new mods, new boost, new octane (alky), and new conditions (weather/humidity). If you don't know how to or don't plan to tune with your s-afc, then ditch it and get a custom tuned flash for those mods. Just my opinion, but if I were in your boat with those mods and adding an S-AFC, I'd be ecstatic with the chance of having all the features of a flash, yet being able to tune on top of it myself! :thumb:

I am having the S-AFC for fine tuning. I know the flash can be tuned and will be tuned for these mods, but if I am not running alky or if I decide to go with race gas or whatever I want to be able to have the ability to make some adjustments. The SAFC is only temp till next month. I ordered a Greddy Emanage Ultimate to give me full control and logging too. The flash will then be changed to just get rid of fuel and boost cut.

Thanks for the remarks man I appreciate it!

You already have a flash, so you already got rid of fuel and boost cut, so you don't need to get reflashed. Unless the reflash you speak of is free, I still see no reason to do it. I also don't see why you'd buy an S-AFC if you intend on going with an e-manage. Spending money on 3 different tuning options sort of defeats the purpose, unless money just isn't an object...

I oredered the SAFC before I saw the Emanage Ultimate, so my DSM buddy gave me the money for the SAFC-II and I used that and my funds to order the EMU. The flash I have is for the mods I had prior to all these upgrades. I want to have it flashed back to just Boost Cut & Fuel Cut so I can use the EMU to do my in car tuning.

I see your point of having the s-afc along with the reflash because I have (had) the same thing. The difference in gains between the afc and the flash isn't that great. The only few things a flash has over the afc is the fuel cut (which you've already gotten rid of) and boost taper (which an mbc would take care of) and the flash optimizes your timing.
From someone that has a flash and still uses an afc to 'fine tune,' I'd say skip the 2nd flash, learn to log and adjust with the afc. You'll get just as many gains with the afc as you would with the flash
