I got to play with the ACD today. What I noticed was in tarmac mode I could get the car to step sideways (only a little, not much) while going straight with liberal application of the throttle. On the snow setting however, it stayed perfectly straight even though the tires where slipping.

Btw, I'm running Pirelli Winter Sports... I'm not crazy enough to use the Yokohama's in the snow :D

Yeah, the snow does help with stability in the snow, but it's not active when going straight. The ACD settings only effect how soon the diff locks when turning. Tarmac locks right away while snow mode is delayed the longest.

I drove my Advans in snow once and barely got to work. I now use Blizzaks in the winter - they've been very useful so far here in Colorado with all the blizzards we've had.
