is the factory location of the radio upper, and the guages lower?

i have seen alot of pics of them the other way around... where they moved after purchase or did they come that way?

my radio is up and my guages are lower.

thanks

from factory the gauges are at the bottom and the stereo on top.you can buy the gauge relocating kit from the dealership for about $40 but some dealerships charge more though.since you have the gauges already im not sure how long the swap will take probly an hour.here's the part no# for the guage relocating kit:MZ598263EX.
thanks! well, i am a little ways off from looking into moving things around, still need a bunch of parts...

but i will definitly reference this post when i get to that point.

thanks!!

np man:thumb: while for me im trying to figure out where to relocate my stereo again since im moving down my boost controller and use the craig hardy gauge pods.
To relocate the gauges if they are already installed you don't need any new parts. You just need that kit if you are buying the gauges and havn't had them mounted yet.

Radio Relocation

I just relocated my radio to the bottom cubby where the factory gauges on my MR were factory installed. I then moved the gauges to the location where the radio was factory installed. I completed the relocation in thirty minutes. I did not need any extra parts since the MR already came with the gauges. Now the radio is closer to my shifter and the gauges are easier to read. I plan to change the interior trim panel and the gauges to the Defi-BR meters. I am hoping a carbon fiber trim panel is produced soon.

The above company has a trim panel upgrade.

Good luck in the relocation, it is an easy procedure.
I'm still waiting on my Craig Hardy piece. I have the Defi gauges already. Waiting sucks

Hi, I just bought an evo 9 and was wondering if I still need the radio relocation kit to just move it to the bottom? I have no guages and not getting some any time soon either. What im looking to do is move the radio down and bring that empty hole to the top, is that possible or do i need the relocation kit? Thanks.
If you don't have the mitsubishi gauge pack, then yest you would need the relocation kit to put your radio down in the lower bay.

They have had cf trim panels pretty much since evo's came out, I put one in my car awhile back, heres the link to the thread that has a picture of it

I got it from roadracemotorsports.com, only down side is the gauges holes aren't pre cut so you'll need a dremel.

You just replied to a two year old message :tease:
gauges!

I'm also looking for a place to mount and keep my gauges and the best place I presume is the upper or lower center consoles of my evo8. My aftermarket radio is in the upper area and I like the way it currently is. The best option would probably be for me is the lower center console where the accessory tray is. Is it possible to place gauges down there? If I can, the dealerships can do it, right? how much and what would I need or what is a suggested plan? Thanks

P.S. I mainly just require a boost gauge but other guages will be needed later for safety precautions.
