This being my first post I am just going to take a second to introduce myself. My name is David and I live in Md, currently own a 2002 Indigo Blue GTI (read sig for mods... theres a lot). I will be selling the GTI to get a down payment of a 2005 Evolution (Tarmac Black).

What trim level of EVO are you buying? Normal (GSR). RS, or MR? Looking at the mods list on your GTI I would assume you are not going to stay stock with your EVO?

Well I would like a GSR (if it is black 05 / Blue by you 03), or RS( if it is white). And yes I will be doing a lot to the EVO, my goal is a 500-600 whp, and or dip into the 11's. Once that is done i will most likely do a EVO7 conversion (i like the look so much more).

On a side note this will be my second mitsu. (First was a supercharged and n2o fed 2002 Eclipse GT. ran 12.1 with spray in an auto) What can I say I like to mod the hell out of my cars.

With 500-600whp, you better hit 11's :) Be prepared to spend some cash to get that kind of hp. I'm sure I'm not the only one around here who can't wait to see it. We love seeing heavily modded EVO's.

Yeah i know I need to spend big money to get the there, but as you see by my two cars I have mentioned (12.1 eclipse GT/ dyno queen GTI 357whp @ 21psi daily driven some what) I have no problem getting parts. I have a couple connections to some companies around my way that allow me to get insane prices on parts for my own car. :shhh: I am a mechanic so I do this all for fun.

I have some questions....

1. What is the max I can bore and stroke the motor to? (2.4-2.5?)
and
2. How much can the stock block/ tranny/ axels hold? (???/???/???)
3. Is there any major problems with the EVO? (I.e crank walk)

1. Best bet if you want to increase displacement is a 2.4 liter swap from any newer 4g64 equiped vehicle.

2. The stock short block can handle 500+ wheel HP. Gota love cast iron blocks :) Some people who are abuseive screw up the drivetrain at stock power levels, others are running 500+ HP through them without problems. That isn't including the clutch of course.... if you plan on any drag strip use you will need a performance clutch.

3. No problems other than a weak stock clutch that I know of.

Keith
