Ok so i got a turbosmart dual stage bov today . Wanted to know if i should use the plate and make if fully recurculate or let it vent to the atmoshpere and recirculate? Does anyone have this bov and if so where can i set the tension at ? from fully closed at the bottom with the cap twisted all the way down how many full turns should i open it? Keep in mind my evo is stock this is my first mod

Your first mod? *sigh* It's not useful then, though expensive. I would always recirculate, but people do what they wanna do. There is no performance gain from VTA, but there is almost always performance loss. Since you got it for sound, I presume, then do the VTA.

How do i know how much pressure to put on the spring inside the bov, this bov has a cap that you turn to increase-decrease the pressure on the spring and suggestions?
My suggestion is not to have a BOV like that. I don't buy BOVs that have adjustment knobs, especially on stock boost that can be held easily by the stocker. You will probably end up adjusting it to where it doesn't flutter or stall at idle, but that will then cause compressor surge. I'll leave you alone until someone can answer your exact question. You may want to go to EvoM, because there's a much higher percent of bling/sound BOV users there, and I know people have this BOV and can answer your question. Unfortunately, many of them probably make the mistake I mentioned above in relation to causing compressor surge inadvertently.

I have the Turbosmart Dual Port BOV on my 05 Evo and i'm very happy with it.... You'll definitely want to recirc. and vent to atmos. to prevent any idle problems. Trust me the blow off valve is plently loud enough even while venting back into the intake. As for the spring adjustment I just installed mine the way it was and took it down the road a few times to see if it was doing what it should be and everything sounded pretty nice.. I did however adjust it a little bit softer and it got a considerable amount louder...

what is compressor surge? And as far as the bov tension for the spring is it better to have more tension or less tension as possible? I got the bov on it sounds sweet, not sure if it working properly, when i let off the gas from redline the rpm's drop really slow?
